Job Title: VP, Corporate Finance & Strategy

Responsibilities / Duties:

  • This role is based in Singapore. Travelling at short notice may be required (if COVID situation allows in the future).
  • Work closely with the senior management team (both in Singapore and in Japan) to shape the long-term strategy for the Company by leading a variety of strategic and corporate development initiatives.
  • Evaluating the financial and strategic aspects of transactions, such as M&A, joint ventures partnerships, and divestments;
  • Preparing concise memos and slides in English and Japanese to illustrate proposed transactions, strategic considerations, and recommended actions;
  • Working closely with senior management on deal analysis, structuring and negotiation;
  • Leading end-to-end M&A and other deal processes, including conducting due diligence and managing internal / external stakeholders;
  • Developing financial / analytical models to perform financial, valuation and market assessment analyses (e.g. 3-statement projection models, DCF valuation models);
  • Engaging in green-field projects to support the company’s growth strategies;
  • Conducting research on trends, competitive landscape, and political / regulatory environment to assess market / target potential

  • Liaising with HQ in Tokyo in Japanese on corporate and approval matters; and
  • Supporting various special projects in the region.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English and Japanese with the ability to write in a clear and concise manner for working with senior management team both in Singapore and in Japan and liaising with HQ in Tokyo 
  • Degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, engineering, or related fields (CFA, MBA is an advantage) 
  • At least 5 years of experience in the capacity of corporate development, transaction advisory, management consulting, or related fields 
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling skills 
  • Sound understanding of accounting concepts and ability to interpret financial statements (some knowledge of IFRS3 and IAS 28 is preferred) 
  • Well-organized, and ability to multi-task in fast pace environment
