The incumbent is expected to possess good knowledge of trade finance products, trade workflows and processes in particular relating to oil, metal and other commodity financing.
Good understanding of commodity client’s expectation and requirements will be added value.
This function is in Trade Finance Operations (TFO) with the focus to support Trade and Commodity Finance business that are very active in the structuring of energy, soft and metal deals for the major global commodity clients with operations in and outside of Singapore.
Sole contact point to both internal and external clients.
Manage an assigned portfolio of commodity clients.
Provide good technical and effective trade support to clients (internal & external)to mitigate trade cycle risk exposure, if any, so as to ensure successful completion of structured deals.
Manage and control structured deals as per transaction approval and escalate to HOD and business partners (Front office, Trade Management Office & other related units) upon identification of deviations or the development of unexpected risk events during the trade flow.
Analyze and evaluate the impact of any transaction deviations detrimental to the Bank’s exposure and client’s position.
Work closely with business partners (Front Office & Trade Management Office) to implement rectification actions agreed upon.
Work effectively with fellow teams (Trade Admin & L/C Documents Checking) to ensure completion of deal from end to end.
Ensure adherence to the companys procedures, policy and guidelines at all times.
Propose areas of improvement in the team for the benefit of the department
Participate in assigned projects from time to time.
Provide cover to fellow colleagues’ portfolio of clients during their absence.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Clarify trade applications received with clients
Perform client Call Back
Review LC text workability and perform back to back LC matching
Obtain client’s written instructions for all trade activities
Coordinate with Trade Management Office for application approvals
Liaise with client and FX team for any FX or forward contracts executed relating to Trade Finance transactions.
Monitor daily transaction maturities for acceptance or payment
Monitor the progress of clients’ source of repayment
Work closely with Trade Admin team to ensure proper and timely execution of client applications.
Coaching and training of new team members to adapt and proficient in their role.
May accompany Front Office to visit or meet up with clients where required
Acceptable tertiary education
Microsoft office applications –MS word, excel, power point, access, visio etc
Knowledge of Swift Alliance and any main accounting system
Knowledge of ICC publications – UCP600, ISP98, URR725, URC522, ISBP.
Knowledge of local region’s regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering policy
Possess effective communication skill to work with the team, department, clients and Front Office.
