Job Title: Portfolio Implementation Manager

Responsibilities / Duties:

Our investment professionals are responsible for delivering investment outcomes to our clients. They are enabled by many teams including Front Office Services (FOS), which is responsible for operations and IT functions. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 
This role is part of the FOS team, focused on the implementation of investment strategies to portfolios. This includes: 
  • Cash management 
  • Portfolio monitoring 
  • Order generation 
  • Corporate actions and IPOs 

This role is expected to work very closely with the Equity, MAS and QS investment teams, and coordinate with the GAA and Fixed Income Junior Portfolio Managers as required. 

Key responsibilities of the role include: 

Team leadership
  • Lead, support and promote the Portfolio Implementation team 
  • Work closely with the investment teams, other FOS teams and other key stakeholders to deliver an efficient service that exceeds expectations 

Cash management 
  • Monitor start of day cash balances and the cash settlement ladder 
  • Proactively support the portfolio manager to invest excess cash and avoid overdraft  
  • Process pre-notifications of cash flows within Aladdin 

Portfolio monitoring  
  • Review start of day portfolio valuation and positions for completeness  
  • Work with portfolio managers to initiate rebalancing if required or appropriate 
  • Ensure required benchmarks, lookthroughs and pricing are available and accurate 

Order generation 
  • Generate orders for portfolio manager approval 
  • Work with Investment Monitoring team to resolve any breaches flagged  
  • Monitor orders to ensure successful placement 
  • Review completed trades 
  • Process non-investment (i.e. not related to alpha) fund trades including feeder funds, monthly pricing fund adjustments and fee rebate unit adjustments 

Corporate actions and IPOs 
  • Support portfolio managers to identify and process voluntary corporate actions, IPOs and proxy votes before the nominated deadline  

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • broad experience of the asset management industry with an emphasis on portfolio management 
  • Conversant with investment concepts, instruments, investment portfolios asset classes and financial derivatives.  
  • Familiarity with investment regulations in Asian markets highly desirable
