Responsibilities / Duties:
Coordinates with branch trade finance operations and processing hubs in China and India of a dissimilar nature for a site, region or product line within the bank's internal operations activities.
Functions managed have high monetary exposure and risk involving the processing of large $ volumes and regulatory restrictions.
Requires a working knowledge of end to end processes since decisions have significant impact affecting multiple and diverse operations and product lines.
Participates in trade finance product and procedural discussion and development with global trade team and ensures consistency across the region and globe.
Ensures proper communication and compliance of company and regulatory policies affecting areas managed, and adherence to procedures and regulatory requirements.
Communicates and interacts with branch trade finance operations and other lines of business as well as their own line of business to provide strategic direction and problem resolution.
Develops and implements new processes/procedures for the branch and/or across the region to improve operating efficiency and ensure timeliness and accuracy of workflow. Identifies service gaps as well as opportunities for process improvements.
Reviews of operating procedures and SLAs for trade finance customers.
Modifies existing procedures and analyzes and resolves non-routine and/or complex and broad operations issues or problems often requiring research and use of Six Sigma tools, and coordinates activities and processes within line of business / operations segments.
Resolves broad operational issues and coordinates activities and processes across lines of business and operations segments.
Identifies, analyzes and resolves complex problems related to product lines or functions, using general practices and precedents to resolve.
Requirements / Qualifications:
University graduate, preferably in business administration, banking, finance, related discipline or equivalent experience.
Excellent knowledge in trade finance products and Uniform Rules of International Chamber of Commerce and all-round experience in trade finance operations, including experience at a managerial level of major operations
Excellent knowledge in local regulations and reporting requirements.
Strong people management and leadership skills and able to lead a major operations.
Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented with high degree of accuracy.
Awareness of Six Sigma/Lean practices and change management preferred.
Excellent global attitude, global mindset and culture, and client centric.
Strong communication, analytical and presentation skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.
Flexibility to attend calls in early morning and night outside normal office hours with global trade team in the U.S. and other regions in order to fulfill deliverables and involvement in global projects and initiatives.
