Job Title: Calypso Application Support

Responsibilities / Duties:


Knowledge of Fixed Income Bonds and Derivatives  (Rates and Credit)  
Prior front office support experience  
Knowledge of batch processes both design and build best practice. 

Technical:  
Good to have: 
Sound knowledge of Calypso system architecture design and build. Fair understanding & experience in core Calypso internals.  
Java, UNIX, Oracle, SQL Server, Autosys/JILs, Unix, Windows shell scripting  
Strong understanding of ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management o 
For recurring Incidents perform root cause analysis and perform the initial analysis to support effective 
Problem Management
For problems, ensure these are prioritised and represented in the Development team meetings and where possible ensure a resolution is implemented to the problem in a timely fashion 
Ensure all changes to the Production Environment follow the Change management process 

Responsibilities:  
Support front office fixed Income applications – Calypso Derivatives, Cash and Valuation services  
Handle BAU user queries, raised by traders, sales, operations, finance, CMRM, other technology teams  
Handle end of day batches and take timely recovery action for failures  
Identify opportunities to improve batch performances and drive efficiencies. 

Responsible for ensuring Local Manager is kept current and apprised of all relevant risk management and control issues. Responsible for ensuring a high level of communication and transparency with Local Manager.  
Responsible for escalating any operational issues to the Local Manager.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Strong verbal communications skills. 
Ability to articulate problem and issues on conference /production incident bridge calls.  
Strong written communications skills. Adept at sharing details through emails in a succinct manner. 
Be an active team player and where required, demonstrate the ability to cross-train and multitask – supporting multiple FOs applications.  
Experience in collaborating with geographically distributed teams and contributing to common goals and deliverables.  Motivation – Feeling positive about the work you are doing by setting long-term and shortterm goals and working toward achieving them
